Karen Uno has represented insurers for nearly her entire career, providing advice and counseling on a broad spectrum of liability and first party coverage issues and defending their interests in declaratory relief, bad faith and contribution actions, and binding arbitrations. Her representation skills combine her technical knowledge, litigation experience, and creative problem solving to provide top tier lawyering for her clients. Karen previously was a partner with Becherer Kannett & Schweitzer.
She understands the challenges of the insurance industry. Her representation of commercial and personal lines insurers has involved a wide range of risks and coverages from agricultural losses to sexual abuse lawsuits and everything in between, including the development of commercial package policy forms and claims and underwriting procedures. She regularly presents to claims departments on such topics as independent counsel, claim file documentation, enforcing a reservation of rights, significant insurance law decisions, homeowners association/condominium claims, policy limit demands, first party appraisals, habitational claims and personal and advertising injury coverage.
